The Town of Santee works diligently to bring businesses into the town that can provide a variety of services for everyone. In order to do that, the Mayor and Council study, evaluate, and make decisions for what is in the best interest of the whole. Therefore, they have developed ordinances and licenses for all business owners to abide by when opening a new business, updating their property, or changing ownership.
The town on AVERAGE processes 175 business licenses a year. Using our data base, which goes back to 2004, we see that fifty-six (56) of the businesses have been here for ten years or longer. One business has been thriving for seventy (70) years! We have 14 hotels, 17 restaurants or food venders, 125 service type businesses and 20 retail. The service type businesses include healthcare, a nursing facility with an Alzheimer's unit, legal services, insurance providers, automotive care, personal care, construction (all types), landscaping, real-estate, banking, pet grooming, and the list goes on.
